We love having kids as part of our congregation at Ascension. Whether you’re coming to one of our services, or joining in with one of our fun social activities for kids, you and your family of little ones are very welcome here.
Bringing the kids to worship services
Your children are welcome at either of our services. Most of our families like to attend our later service at 10.45am. During term time at this service we run Basecamp, our programme of children’s teaching. Your kids can learn about Jesus and join in with crafts and games in the Grace Hall whilst you worship.
Kids are also welcome at our earlier more traditional service, and we have bags of books and games they can use during the service. Ask a sidesperson when you arrive.
We don’t mind if your kids make noise during our services, it’s all part of being little. But if you’d like to take them to a quieter space or want a space to breastfeed, we have the King’s Room which has a big glass window on to the worship space, and is hooked up to the sound system so you can follow along with the service whilst you’re taking some time out.
Activities for kids
We run fun events for families and kids throughout the year. If you’ve got toddlers or preschoolers, you might like to come along to Footprints Tots on Mondays during term time, or Singing and story time with Sharon on Wednesdays from 10.15am – to 10.45am. For older children, there’s Extreme Fun Club, for kids in year 3 to year 6, on Wednesdays.
Older, secondary school aged children might like our youth cafe that runs on Mondays.
Keep an eye out on our news pages for other special one-off events like our Light Party.
